Getting the Pets into the Season

Clint thinks I am crazy.  You tell me.  I had this cute idea to tie a bow around Fatty and Ox's neck for Christmas Eve (when we are having all the family over).  He says boy dogs don't dress up.  I say he is no fun, and they are dogs and are allowed to look cute at Christmas time.  Here are pictures to prove this!

Fatty is not a fan of the camera.

Also, please note, this was close to bed time and everyone was very tired.

Does Fatty remind of you anyone?

How bout now?

Oh and if anyone was wondering how Kitty is doing....

There's your answer.
Fatty isn't fond of her right now, but Ox likes her.  It's strange, Fatty LOVES our other cats, but Kitty and him are just not buddies yet.  She has never been around dogs before.  When she hisses, Fatty goes nuts.  Fatty is a hyper, in your face, kind of dog.  He doesn't always learn right away to leave a person a lone.  Any tips from anyone out there to make these two get along?

Men really have an aversion to animals in any types of decorations. I wanted a lobster costume for our cat Charlie for Halloween and Lee was very vocal about how he's not OK with animals wearing clothes. My point? How do we know that? They might feel just as festive as we do and want to show some holiday spirit. They look cute! I say go for it.

My fiance Andrew hates when I dress our beagle up. She's a girl, she's allowed to wear pink! He won't even let me put a pink collar on her, he insists her favorite color is red. Whatever, guys are just silly. As for hyper dogs and kitties, I helped to acclimate my cat, a Maine coon named Boy George, to my sister's terrier puppy by only allowing them to be together when Stewie was all tuckered out. With him calm and laying down, Boy George just ignored him, and as Stewie was too tired to make quick movements, he didn't startle Boy George when he edged closer to sniff him. After a few meetings like this, Stewie didn't feel it necessary to tackle George and hold him down to get a good whiff, and George treated Stewie like he does everyone else, with slight disdain.

Saw you over on Decor8 and you reminded me of my childhood pooches and how my mom dressed us up to look like our dogs. How weird is that?!

Sweet post, though. . .

Yep, J doesn't like me dressing up our dogs either. Boo! I LOVE the bows on them, though. I am amazed that they don't pull them off... we tried to get a picture of our dogs - Barley in a santa hat, Jezzie in a little elf collar - and Jezzie kept pulling Barley's hat off. It was not a big success, but we did get a series of funny pictures...

Just wanted to chime in and say that time will make the animals get along, nothing else will really do it!
