Decorating the Dining Room...Fa la la, la la

Entertaining during the holidays is one of our favorite traditions!  I get to use the "good dishes" and cook some awesome meals!!  Clint gets to eat those meals.  This year, we are taking over Christmas Eve.  I am very excited and cannot wait!

Our dining room is very tiny.  We can really only seat four people at the table.  So, we are going to use our breeze way instead.  Our dining room will probably host hors d'ourves.

The adorable table runner, which I need to take a better pictures of, came from a local store called Sideways for $27.

In the background of this picture, against the window, is a green leafed Poinsettia.  I call this plant, our love plant.  The reason, it was one of two Poinsettia's we had at our wedding.  My mom took one and it died.  Mine lived, but all the pink leaves fell off and green ones appeared.  I tell Clint that when this plant dies, our love dies, so we must keep it alive!

I usually like to put my own twist on things.  Nothing crazy, but just make them a little more personal.
For our dining room table, I decided to use a cake stand (got at a flea market for $6), festive napkins (free from grandma), red glittery candles (free from mom), and small village trees ($4 each from a local store called Haven).  I thought it added the perfect holiday touch to the room.

To the right of the table, on the wall, we have two shelves.

I didn't go over board, but I put out a few small pieces.

Over 7 years ago, I went to Chicago with my family, before Crate and Barrel came to Michigan, and purchased these two mugs for under $5 each.

I found these candle holders at Pier 1 for $2 each!  Just love that place!

There you have it!  Our dining room is ready to entertain!
